The question popping up recently has been “Hey, do you have any invites for IILWY?!?!” and that’s one that will never go away. iminlikewithyou.com plans to be invite only forever.

If you’re lucky enough to have picked up an invite, then you’re already well aware of the amazing interface and usability of this website. To sum it up briefly, it’s an interactive ebay bidding-style social networking site (what?).

The site is based on user created games that others will bid on. If you want to get in contact with a person you either need to win a game, or choose that person as a winner of a game that you created. Simple, right? Winning games, answering questions, or even uploading photos will gain you points to use towards bidding on profiles.

There is also alot of mobile integration into IILWY that allows you to interact with your contacts. If a user has entered their phone number, you can call them directly from the site using VOIP and your phone number will never be revealed. You’re also able to text message directly keeping your phone number private. This is only available after you become friends with someone on the site.

After using this website for the past few days, it made me take for granted being able to leave photo, video and profile comments on eveyone. I feel like this is such a change in typical social networking sites that at first glance you really aren’t sure what to do on it. With this type of restricted access to people, you have to be somewhat determined to get someone’s attention. This will solve the mass message emails and friend requests that have ruined Myspace.

Lastly, If you have a webcam, there will soon be interactive effects similar to Playstation’s EyeToy to add to your video. Will this website change the way we interact online? Time will tell.

Happy bidding..
