RIP Whale Shark…I hardly knew you.

Georgia Aquarium is an amazing facility. Sadly, this is the second whale shark to die there.

I just saw this mentioned on CNN and I remembered your flickr pics from the GA Aquarium. I think another whale shark died a few months ago too.. they’re having a hard time keeping them alive. =/

Whale sharks are cool, it is sad to hear that. I got to see one when I was in Japan, they don’t do very much, but they sure look cool.

Aww man some cool bloggers finally visit Atlanta and I miss it! doh! Yeah the aquarium sent me the sad news of the whale shark, those are some amazing animals! I hope you had fun in Atlanta, East Coast needs plenty of lovin too!

I was at the Conference with you, and I was told that there were a few new whale sharks introduced to that exhibit in the recent past. They inadverdently brought parasites along and the biologists were attempting to treat the water with chemicals. The biologists speculate that the chemicals killed both whale sharks.
Did you notice the night of the Neenah Paper Co. party that Norman was swimming strangely? Head up towards the surface and tail down at the floor. Lots of people were commenting on it that night.
