I LOVE APPLE AND AT&T

Posted at 12:44 am | 21 comments

[ video from Macworld in January 2007 - moments after Steve's keynote ]

There seems to be some misconception on where I stand with AT&T and Apple! The iPhone bill video definitely wasn’t intended to be anything negative on either company! I made the video only to point out the comical aspect of my phone bill being delivered in a box.

Rest assured my friends, I couldn’t be happier with AT&T and if you haven’t caught on — I’m one of the biggest Apple enthusiasts ever.

As for the iPhone? I love it. That goes without saying.

..and that is that!

Thanks again to everyone who’s been supportive. It means a lot.

THANKS!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the positive feedback I received on the iPhone bill video. I really appreciate it!

People keep asking me how I can possibly text that much?! 28k to 35k was usually my average with Sprint, so I really didn’t expect much less from AT&T. Two of the main factors of that large text usage is Facebook mobile and twitter.

• Rarely do I visit Facebook’s actual site. I can reply to messages, write on walls, add friends and even poke them with a simple text message!

• With twitter, I stay in contact with friends all over the map. It’s my main news source as well! Follow the right people, and you won’t need to go anywhere else.

• With iPhone’s iChat like interface for SMS, it’s much easier to carry on an entire conversation (especially with other iPhone users).

In addition, of the 900 minutes allotted to my account.. I only used 200! Texting and email is my main form of communication, and I know I’m not alone. Why call when you can text?

IPHONE BILL

Posted at 2:27 am | 297 comments

I finally got my first bill from AT&T in a cardboard box containing 300 pages of it. Apparently, they give you a detailed transaction of every text message sent and received. Completely unnecessary.

Sign up for e-billing! Stop the madness!

FLICKERSTICK

Posted at 2:20 am | 9 comments

Flickerstick was back in Pittsburgh for the Station Square Street Jam last Friday. I can’t believe how many times I typed Flickrstick that day..

“Who the heck is Flickerstick?!?” — That seemed to be the trend while trying to find someone to attend the show with me.

They were the VH1 winners of “Band on the Run” in 2001. Granted, I’ve never to this day seen the show, but that’s usually where people will most recognized them from.

CHICKEN DANCE

Posted at 12:37 am | 15 comments

Sometimes when I’m chatting with the internet, they tell me to do things.

Naturally.. I do it.

Sitting in a somewhat crowded coffee shop, I was instructed to do the chicken dance. Here you have it.. the subtle chicken dance and an invasion of a large fly as the added bonus.

Much love to djsteen for his wonderful video capture of this event.

COPY PASTE ON THE IPHONE

Posted at 9:54 am | 7 comments

iPhone Copy and Paste from lonelysandwich and Vimeo.

This is an amazing little copy/paste demo by lonelysandwich.com.

Steve: “Justine, why do you still have that Treo when you have that beautiful shiny little iPhone that I made especially for you?”

NO COPY AND PASTE STEVE!!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!?$J!@#!

I don’t care if I have to lick my screen to copy and punch a baby to paste — let’s just make it happen already!

FACEBOOK STACKED FRIENDS

Posted at 11:06 am | 4 comments

Why I bother to blog about extremely small changes I notice on facebook is beyond me. Perhaps it’s my new found love to this social networking site that once didn’t even include my school so I had to ‘borrow’ a friends Duquense email address years ago to join and I’m still using that same account? Was that even a sentence? Does it matter?

The point is — I just noticed facebook added this delectable little stacked friend request feature (is this really even a feature?). Before I really consider what I think about it, I will forever ask myself when facebooking “What would Jason Calacanis think?” WWJCT!

If you missed Jason’s entry about declaring Facebook Bankruptcy, be sure to check it out. I thought it was quite a humoring rant on how he’s way too busy for Facebook to maintain his extensive app/friend requests (but I’m also glad to see he actually decided against leaving facebook in a future post and spent several hours approving his friends).

WWJCT? I believe Jason will hate the stacked friend request feature. He obviously doesn’t like being bitten by zombies (neither do I), but I’m sure his inclusive friend requests will end up stacking themselves well beyond the fold of the site. No scrolling, ftw!

What do I think? After adding a mere 30 some requests, they managed to make their way near the bottom of my browser and ruin my old technique of friend approving that required zero scrolling. I like this feature in the sense that I can see who I just added, but viewing my recent profile activity which works just as well.

In addition, this also takes place for all application invites as well. A bit redundant, but it’s nothing to complain about.

Either way, I love you facebook and I’m sure Jason does too. Don’t quote me.

This morning I woke up (if you can’t tell by my ijustwokeup attire/train wreck appearance of the above video) and headed out to get some cereal for breakfast. I had no intention of filming anything — I just wanted some treats! …alas!

I’m a huge fan of advertising/marketing and always constantly paying attention to marketing campaigns. Let me be the first to tell you that Frosted Mini-Wheats are doing something right. They are almost always in my face in various forms of media.

Perhaps it’s coincidence, but It seems anytime I turn on the TV (which is rare) or walk down an aisle of a grocery store (also rare), that they are trying to creep their way into my life

..and they do. Kellogs, you win. I bought you.

Another memorable instance of Mini-Wheat goodness: Last year I went to Canada and to this day the jingle for the then ‘new’ Frosted Vanilla Mini-Wheats haunts my dreams. Today I am here to present to you the most amazing commercial ever:

[ While we're on the subject of marketing and advertising -- When I went back and viewed the first video, I noticed it had a revver pre-roll ad on it! Shocked, scared and even a little nervous; I quickly made my way into the settings just to be sure I still had control! The answer is yes. Thank you Revver! I will continue to love you. ]

NEW JUSTIN.TV FEATURES

Posted at 3:13 pm | 10 comments

Last night justin.tv launched a few features to the site including a new portal page, redesigned channel profiles and new tips!

View my channel here: justin.tv/ijustine

The new portal page is similar to that of the cover flow view on iTunes. It allows you to quickly browse through channels and view each live stream. There is also a channel wide tips section, announcements and featured channels.

Another big improvement is the tip system. It’s key to finding out what everyone is currently doing and browsing selected archived clips.

Tips are no longer “a process” to submit and are easily displayed on each lifecaster’s channel page. In addition, when a new tip is added, a notification is also sent to the chat room.

Check it out!
