IPHONE RINGTONES

Hoorraaaay for custom iPhone ringtones! This was one of the biggest complaints (other than not having copy and paste) that most people seemed to have from the very beginning. Granted, there have been applications such as iToner that I’ve heard work great for creating them — It still wasn’t the official Apple way. Also see gizmodo’s entry on 8 more ways to get ringtones on your iPhone.
I was so excited that I jumped right into downloading one of my favorite songs (Bon Jovi - Livin’ on a Prayer) expecting to turn it directly into a ringtone. I was extremely upset when I received this error message:

Only 500,000 songs can be used. At first that seemed like a lot, but in reality 95% (if not more) of my purchased songs aren’t even compatible. Huge disappointment. Just be sure you see the little
next to your song before you get as excited as I did about having a Bon Jovi ringtone.

After finally finding a song that would work — the actual process of creating a ringtone is extremely simple. Right click on the song, choose create ringtone, drag the slider to the 30 second clip (or less) you wish to use, choose the gap between loops and click buy. Then just sync up your iPhone and you’ll have a new tasty ringtone.
Although, there isn’t a substitute for the default Marimba ringtone..
