I’ve been using a beta version of Mailplane for the past month or so. The other day I restarted my little Mac, opened up MailPlane..

OH NO! The beta had expired!!

For a brief second I thought “How am I going to check my email?” I’ve gotten so used to being able to use various shortcut keys and random functionality that mailplane adds to gmail. Now, using gmail alone has become a handicap.

Thankfully I was able to upgrade and everything is working great now.

“You love them both: Your MAC and Gmail, right? But they are both from different worlds and aren’t friends, yet. That’s where Mailplane comes in to bring them together: Google Mail’s superb SPAM protection, endless storage and global access – and the friendliness of your Mac.”

This is such a great Mac app for gmail users with multiple accounts. You can instantly switch from each quickly without ever needing to open a browser window. Such a time saver.

In addition, It also uses the growl notifications to alert you of new incoming mail and you can reply directly by just clicking on the alert.

You can send photos, attach documents, download files and even use gtalk directly from the mailplane app.

Besides it’s great features, the name and icon are quite catchy.
