Hey friends! I’m really excited about Podcamp AZ coming up on November 3rd and I hope you are too (even if you aren’t going). I’ll finally be able to meet Brent, Clintus, and YOU if you’ll be there!

I’m having a quick photoshop contest to all those who would like to participate. The winner gets a free Podcamp AZ shirt and any swag that I can steal from the weekend. I’ll even ask people there if they would like to give anything to the winner!

The pitch will be something like this:

Here’s a wonderful iSight tour of the 2007 booths at Photo Plus. This might be the longest video I’ve ever put online. We all know how much I love those..

Day two at Photo Plus Expo with xtrain — It’s freezing today on the expo floor. I felt compelled to add some amazing high level effects to this video before the day started. Someone yesterday pointed out my over use of the sound effect “do do do do do”. It’s a great space filler and also even more effective with titling. I hope you’ll get some use out of it.

Yesterday I met Jessica Claire from shootsac.com and she was kind enough to hook me up with an amazing bag! If you’re a photographer (and often carry around a ton of a gear) then this bag is for you. It’s also extremely customizable with tons of different designer covers. I’ll blog more about it when I can, but for now.. check out the site!

Ah.. a photography expo. My camera? The iPhone. Everyone else is running around with their 2394853495835mp DSLRs, lighting kits and telephoto lenses — but can they upload photos directly to flickr, facebook, groovr, and blog in under 3 seconds? Nope.

(Just trying to make myself feel a little better for my lack of photography equipment *sigh*)

Did I mention we’ve got some free DVDs over here?

For as many times as I’ve been to NY, I’ve never had the chance to meet the infamous naked cowboy. Today must have been my lucky day — While I was on my way to a meeting he just so happened to be right in my path. How wonderful.

Pretty sure he had no idea who I was and who said anything about justin.com?

I’m here in NYC! One of my favorite pastimes is sitting in Starbucks listening and watching people (in the least creepiest way possible) and drinking coffee (of course). If you’re talking and I can hear you, that’s not really my fault. Is it?

What’s something you’ve overheard that was quite comical? Or you maybe something you shouldn’t have heard? Hmm?

Adventureland is being film here in Pittsburgh! We’ve been getting more attention here lately as far a location for shooting films and TV shows (Kill Point, anyone…? Hmmm?) with a few more in the works with upcoming months.

Greg Mottola, who directed the summer blockbuster hit “Superbad,” directs “Adventureland” as well. The movie is based around Mottola’s own life. He worked in the real Adventureland in Long Island, N.Y., after college.

“This is one of the few amusement parks,” said art director Matt Munn. “It’s a historic landmark, and it’s maintained that older look. It hasn’t been updated. There are the wooden roller coasters, which are great.”

I only had time for one day on set, but it was a lot of fun. I also met some new friends (Hi Megan and Melissa!). I’ll have a video up as soon as I get a chance to edit it.

The second and last day that I slept in my Steelcase box. You know.. I really did think it would be a lot more comfortable? Good thing the comfort of my new chair makes up for what the cardboard box lacks!
