Today at BlogWorld, the “Cult of Blogging” session with Leo Laporte, Om Malik, and Mike Arrington was minus two of the key panelists. Apparently Arrington ‘forgot’ (*edit* apparently there was just some communication error) and Om was having back problems. Either way, Leo asked if I would be able to fill in.
Now, if you were attending this session in hopes of seeing Om and Mike, I’m sorry! I’m not one of the top 10 blogs on technorati nor can I give you the best option of monetization.. but, I’m extremely passionate about technology, building communities, the internet and (dare I say) new media. I can give you advice about what’s worked for me and what hasn’t (as well as a few new websites to join or some cool new apps
). I might not be the biggest ‘blogger’ on the block, but I do truly love this community of people and helping out any way possible.
Leo and I spoke a lot about passion for what we do and less about monetization. This is something I do truly respect him for. We all want to make money doing what we love.. and sometimes the road getting to that point is a rough one! It’s not impossible.. it just takes a lot of work and dedication, but the key to it all is being passionate and love what you’re doing.
Anyways, to those who did attend the session and stuck around to chat afterwards, I really appreciate it. It was great meeting everyone at Blogworld and I’ll see you at the next event!
