Is there an airline that doesn’t suck, in America?

I’ll have to prepare myself for chaos when I fly around the US this year. I might go by a squishy ball I can throw at people to relieve frustration. Or are they illegal on flights too?

The only airline I’ve ever flown that hasn’t been delayed is SouthWest. I’ve been on about 10 SW flights and never had a problem. US Air on the other hand… I’ve never had a US Air flight that _hasn’t_ been delayed.

midwest airlines, they are usually pretty good. they have the best cookies that they make onboard. the only time i had a problem was a 5 hour delay out of laguardia, but i got a lot of free donuts from dunkin donuts so that made up for it.

I totally echo AxsDeny’s claim that SW is rarely if ever delayed. I love SW airlines, and the legroom of all 20-something rows feel like first-class, the seats are nice, new leather, the crew is funny and witty, and always on time for me (usually get to my destination earlier than scheduled too).

My wife and I fly twice a week, not as much as you Justine, but we unfortunately use US Airways more often than not due to the fact that SW does not fly to Washington DC’s Reagan — if it did we totally would solely fly SW. US Airways BLOOOOOOOWWWWWSSS!!! The airplane itself if dingy and gross, the flights are constantly delayed, and on numerous occasions the plane malfunctions prior to taking off.

I have never flown Virgin America but cast my vote for SW being the best airline around.

I seriously was trying to comment on this about the silverware like I would on viddler but no! You had to use youtube, and sure it works but that doesn’t make it okay.

Still though, they trust people with silverware? That’s nuts!

I just hate waiting. It sucks. I’d rather drive to LA than fly from SFO. You just sit around waiting and waiting.

I thought Virgin America was supposed to be the jam. With all their innovations of in-flight entertainment, I guess the crew got pre-occupied on an in flight party. Oh well, good try!

That sucks, Justine! How long have you been waiting? Yesterday I flew from Salt Lake City to LA and we almost got delayed. When we landed it was pouring rain! I hope Virgin America will start working with you. At least you don’t have JetBlue! Nasty blue chips, blech!

I’ve only flown Virgin Atlantic twice, but both times were 3 hour delays.
SouthWest is the online airline where I have never been delayed, but they don’t have tasty treats… or comfy seats… or in-flight entertainment..
BUT! they get you to your destination on time!

Yeah, it’s definitely really frustrating. This is such a great airlines if they’d just get their act together with delays!

You people sure do complain a lot. For only a couple/few hundred bucks a large metal tube jettisons you across the world in a matter of hours, something that less than a few hundred years ago took months of travel, large sums of money, and was extremely dangerous and uncomfortable.

And that’s the end of my…uh, complaint. Ha ha.

Your whining has become tiresome. Most 23 year olds would love to fly as often as you do and would not complain. You just look like the spoiled daddy’s girl that you are… Do you even pay for all this shit with your OWN money? People are starting to lose interest princess.

You do realize that most delays nowadays are not the airlines’ fault, no? There are things like weather and congested airports — flying into LAX is always chaotic. I fly to Europe regularly and have learned that flying into Heathrow or Frankfurt almost always results in 15-20 minutes of circling over the airport before a space opens up for us to land.

Yes, sometimes there are mechanical problems, or the pilot doesn’t show up on time, etc…but lately you can thank a combination of an outdated air traffic control system and an infrastructure that was not designed to handle the amount of current traffic for most of your problems.

I’ve had my share of delays on Southwest, too — they’re not perfect either. If you’ve really got to be in LA at a decent hour, pick a non-peak time and day, and/or fly into Burbank, Long Beach (JetBlue), OC, or even Ontario.

Virgin America FORFEITS your ticket if you miss your flight… Most airlines don’t do this.. Keep that in mind!!
