I’m back in Pittsburgh so I went over to Cinemanix with Alex Lindsay (who was also in town) and Bryan Scibelli to do a green screen test with the new RED Camera. Here’s a brief clip of my amazing dancing skills. It’s actually quite a train wreck.
I’ll be posting another video shortly with more RED camera.. less dancing.

Aaronontheweb on Apr 10th 2008 at 6:58 pmThe RED camera is actually a pretty cool piece of technology; it uses a circular bus in order to allocate more surface area for higher data transfer rates, which allows for the great slow motion capture.
This camera is the same model that as the cameras Mythbusters uses for their slow-motion captures. The backer of the Red camera project is the same guy who founded the Oakley line of sunglasses; he used to do all of his own original photography for his catalogs up until a few years ago, and he was never satisfied with new digital cameras and their inability to capture rapid motion shots (many of the photos in his catalogs are of people surfing/snowboarding while wearing his products.)
