Find large files on your mac

Just ran out of disk space (again) on my Mac. Frustrated, I did a google (not sure if you’ve heard of it or not, but it’s a great way to find things) search to find an app to tell me where all these large files are lurking at on my drive.
Spotting Grand Perspective in my results, I recalled someone telling me about this program before. It’s extremely simple and perfect for those of us who like things visually. The app was also small enough to download on my almost completely full drive.
After scanning your drive, you’re presented with a visual representation of everything on it — The larger the boxes, the larger the file. It allows you to quickly spot a large file you may or may not have forgotten about.

Above is Disk Inventory X which is actually the better option. It has a much nicer interface and will give you more detailed search results. In addition, you can delete files directly using the program and it will update live which will cut down on confusion. “Waaa, I already deleted this file!!!”
Both will get the job done, though! I just deleted 15 gigs of stuff I didn’t even know was on my drive! I wonder how much stuff you’ll find that you didn’t even know was there.. Hmm!
