There’s a new little micro-blogging-twitter-like site out there called chatterous that I’ve been checking out for the last week or so. It’s pretty cool and it takes advantage of most of the common ways that’d you’d want to communicate with someone (or a group of people) at all times: email, SMS, jabber or web.

To test it out feel free to join my group here. There are a few other ways to join groups other than just on the web:

GTALK
You can also join by adding the chatterous group address to your gtalk : ijustine@chatterous.com and then send @join yz8hg (each group is protected by a code).

EMAIL
Simply send an email to ijustine@chatterous.com with @join yz8hg in the body.

SMS
Text CHTR JOIN ijustine yz8hg to 41411

One of the cool things is that it’s almost real time. There’s about a 3 second delay on the web and IM client so it’s more of a chatroom environment as opposed to simple status updates with twitter. Although, there is a rumor that there will be twitter integration soon!

At anytime, type @help for.. you guessed it, help!

Feel free to start your own groups and invite your friends. That’s one of the coolest features and makes for some interesting conversation that you can take with you everywhere.
