Yeah I will be getting my new 3G iPhone on friday and is there a problem with the weight on the iphone because mine only gets dented in the corner with the headphone jack! the other side is bad to but the big dents are on the side with the headphone jack!

I have to wait at an Att store =((((

Actually the most abused iPhone ever is the one that the guy that sells those blenders owned….before he blended it into a million pieces!

Thats pretty bad, mine has some dents but I can flip it for $100 to an iPhone virgin.

I’ll be getting mine at the ATT store at the mall near me in the morning. Unfortunately I won’t be going the 30 miles to my nearest applestore.

I don’t think that the new iphone is as dourable with the plastic on the back.

wow… Those are pretty bad wounds/scars. I don’t think I have seen a phone that bad. I have a hard case for mine because I was worried about any abuse to my iPhone. I guess I’m a better mother.. Hehe. I just got my iPhone in Feb. I’m gonna keep it a bit longer and not go for the 3G just yet. I’m on my iPhone enough and I think I will end up injured, if I have a faster mobile connection.

OMG! Laura’s iPhone is much worse than yours! It’s really scratched up. I’m surprised the buttons still work.

I once had a little LG flip phone that I dumped completely into a bucket o’ paint. I shit you not, it survived. Well, all except for the clear button, but hey, it still turned on!

Maybe just get new casing? Riiiiight, you know you’re going to upgrade lady ;-P

I dropped mine one too many times on concrete and put a crack diagonally across the screen about a month ago. Everything still works so I’ve just been using it holding out for the 3G.

I wish I HAD an iPhone to drop. I abuse my Sony Ericsson probably just as much though. It’s freakin’ durable! I always run to the site of the accident and pick it up quickly and check it…and it’s always been fine. Works just as well as the day I bought it, and looks just fine, other than the battle scars…

How about you get the 3G, then get a case for it? The thin rubber ones, fit snug, aren’t clunky or anything… and then you wouldn’t scratch it up.

Well after one year of having my ipod my headphone jack ceased to work well. Doing some research…never wrap the cord of the headphones around the ipod with the phones connected to the jack…

Conclusion: The outside parts resist a lot…the headphone jacks…not so much as i all devices!! So be careful…and i need a new ipod which i will be replacing with an iphone and a ipod classic for long trips!

well im not too sure about plastic/whatever the current iphone has on its back.. but wouldnt plastic get even more dent up if dropped? idk. andi dont think my video-ing will take me as far as dropping it just ot see if it dented. just saying.

My macbook has so many cracks on the wristboard thing, and the light on the charger doesn’t work, and my headphone jack only puts sound into one side of the headphone/speaker, and some keys are a bit sticky, plus my screen needs to be cleaned so bad!!! but it’s still good… i move my macbook way to much.
I think i’m out of warranty so not sure!
AHHH the iPhone finally comes out in AUS tomorrow!!! Can’t wait to get one!! Hopefully they aren’t sold out. LOL they still haven’t released pricing on some carriers… so i don’t know…

I’ve only had my iphone for 3 months and it’s still as good as new but come Friday I will be in line at Apple for the 3g iphone.

Mine now looks brand new, BECAUSE IT IS! My first one that I had from release was stolen at work. I cried and laid in bed and refused to eat and… it was really bad.

So my mom bought me a nice new iPhone and ALL WAS WELL WITH THE WORLD. Then a week later it hard locked. I took it to the genius bar and they gave me a new one. So far, the third one seems to be fine.

I won’t be getting a 3G because we just bought a house and apparently they get upset or something if you don’t make your mortgage payment. But I’m an impatient little geek so I doubt it will be too long.

My first iPhone was the most defective iPhone ever. 10 restores later they gave me a new one. The battery is very poor on it. Probably won’t be getting the new iPhone 3G. I’ll just upgrade to iPhone 2.0.

• numerous, I got of the car with the phone on my lap incidents
• 1 flying out of my pocket on a vespa at 45 down the most horrible street in Phoenix
• the ringer and volume is permanently stuck on low, and stays on screen to let me know
• the bottom right of my touch screen is total broken forcing me to decline all incoming calls
• i can dial, i have to IM myself new numbers to call

Truly the most durable phone I have ever owned.

I’m getting an iPhone 3g. I am so happy! I played with some iPod Touches at the Apple store in the mall of america, but never an iPhone. My mom is taking me to the AT&T store 10 minutes away, instead of driving an hour to the Apple store in Grand Rapids.
I can’t wait! Only 1 more day!!

Well, how shall I begin? I purchased my first iPhone on July 4th, 2007. I had it in mint condition until my software went crazy and had to get a new one free of charge at the Apple Store. Second wee of March 2008, my second iPhone was stolen at my local Dunkin’ Doughnuts. However, prior to that I had dropped my second iPhone five times in a crappy plastic cover that I pay 40 bucks for. It cracked open and I had to press it together. Dirt and stuff was accumulating inside. So I felt terrified that my phone was stolen, but semi-happy to purchase another for $500+ *tear* So I have my third iPhone and it’s in excellent condition. I will never part ways with it, but will still be on line Friday morning 6am Fort Lauderdale, Florida Galleria Mall Apple Store. Epic!

And I thougth my iPhone was injured!

I left my phone on the roof of my car and then drove off.
By the time I went back to find it there was some pretty bad damage.
It still held out for another week though.

Wow! I’ve never seen an iPhone in bad shape before. I’ve only dropped mine like 5 times and its practically brand new looking… yet I think I’m still gonna buy a new one… too bad i cant go to the Apple store in SF, I’m going to the ATT store

Mine still looks like it did on the day I bought it. I got the invisible shield from ZAGG for mine.
They just shipped my iPhone 3G invisible shield, hopefully get it soon so I can protect my new upcoming 3G iPhone.

i got one of those invishield things as well. it actually rubbed off at one point and they replaced it for free, which i thought was really nice of them. i did have a friend though that got his run over by a truck. what was amazing though was that it was actually still working. you just couldn’t use the screen because it was totally smashed.

What happened to your pink case? I know you like it naked and all, but look at the outcome.

Oy! Ok, so last year I had a terrible “accident” with my phone. I don’t remember what I was doing or what exactly happened, but I got really pissed off at something. The closest thing to me was my phone so I grabbed it and threw it. I threw it on my bed cause I didn’t want it to break, but what happened? IT SNAPPED CLEAN IN HALF! Thanks stupid bed. XP

I… I want to cry, but then I look at mine and let out a sigh of relief.

You think that’s bad!!?? My screen is cracked in the middle all the way down, and it’s kept together by tape. My memory card keeps popping out of my phone, because the flap that’s supposed to keep it inside has fallen off!! And less than three weeks ago i dropped my phone into the toilet, then i buried it in rice and 24 hrs. later it works perfectly. That’s hardcore, see if you can top that… besides that it has suffered tons and tons of drops, but that’s just wounds, permanent scars and sand inside my phone…. I should really get a new phone!!

Since I’m new to AT&T and I need to do a family plan with one iPhone and one non-iPhone, and since I’ll need my wife with me to do that (and she’ll be working on Friday morning, as will I), I won’t be there.

There’s already a line at the Boston Apple Store, too. If I could, I’d totally be in it right now. I’ve been dying for an iPhone since last summer, and I can’t believe I’m not going to be getting one on opening day.

Also Iphone 3G is not worth getting only thing they added is finally faster speed ha ha ha in which other mobile phones like windows mobile smartphone already have this for a year now. and GPS using google crappy GPS… geez I seen better GPS from windows Mobile Smartphones. Again Iphone is another big hype for people to get it because the way it looks. I prefer Samsung Instinct because it has Windows Mobile 6.1 built in and is way more advance than the Iphone 3G and more smaller and thiner than the Iphone 3G. so… my gadget abuse stories….
my almost brand new iPod fell in the toilet in march, and still lives!
then, the next month, i dropped my phone in a pond. i’m lucky i even found it… but it still works!
i’ve also dropped both gadgets numerous times, thus creating random scratches; once upon a time, i could see myself in the back of my iPod.
and my cell phone charm used to have a glass thing with my birthstone and some water inside, until i dropped my phone and it broke. then i slipped on the water…
i’ve been sorta avoiding the iPhone hype so i don’t implode from jealousy.
the 3g is only $200, so maybe soon i won’t have to be so jealous of you iPhone-owning people soon.
