It’s late and I’m too tired to write a real review.. so I’ll chime in with comments on some more in depth thoughts about this movie tomorrow!

I totally loved this movie! Way better than the first one. I will go see this movie again in theaters! It’s that good people! That good!!!!!

It was fantastic. Heath Ledger’s performance is obviously Oscar-winning. Although it would be extremely hard to present him with an Oscar award. Hmmm…

Maggie Gyllenhaal is NOT Katie Holmes what was your first clue :p

Definitely thought Maggie couldn’t pull off being the center of such an intense love triangle. I thought Harvey Dent was the best part of the movie and it kind of sucks that no one is talking about how great he was. Two Face was, well, whatever, but Dent’s character was awesome. Also, Gordon was a badass. Also, I’m glad they showed Barbra Gordon (his daughter) even though she was totally irrelevant to the plot, because she’s supposed to be Batgirl later. I really liked the thematic message, it took Heart of Darkness a few steps further, by kind of saying humans are (or can be) basically evil, but that we all have to keep up a facade of being basically good, or else society falls apart. Really great film.

…Maggie Gyllenhaal is BETTER than Katie Holmes…. that’s just my opinion overall though, actually haven’t seen this movie yet… but I have heard good things… and am excited to see it…I like ellipses…

It was fucking amazing. I think M.G. did a lot better job than Katie would have. Holmes is just a pretty face, and Gyllenhaal has a lot more talent, imo.

It was a really successful fusion of the comics’ storyline, and what is required in every action movie (explosions, sexy people, tension, fight-scenes, etc), while still having an incredible plotline for anyone to enjoy (not just nerds, haha).

It was just so great?!?

Okay first, I have to say thank god they killed off Rachel! Now, for the next movie we can get Justine to play Bruce’s love interest!

Heath knocked it out of the park! I said it before and I’ll say it again that they titled the movie wrong! It’s rightful name is “The Joker” period end of story.

Did anyone else noticed how perfect Two-Face’s burned scalped hair line was. come on everything else looked raw and bad ass then he has perfect hair!

Who else hated the fact that the Scarecrow turned into a 2 second bad guy. That Batman took out with out any problems.

Scarecrow was dealt with in Batman Begins.
In that scene, a number of the bandits were dressed as Batman, and I guess someone decided to sport the Scarecrow mask.

It was crazy good, I’ve never said that to any movie before, but it was the best, I watched it yesterday 10:35 PM ended at 1:20AM I stayed awake, because it was the best movie ever.

I saw it tonight as well! Brilliant! Especially the acting of the late Heath Ledger who is sure to be nominated for an Oscar for this role.
Heath’s portrayal of the “Clown Prince of Crime” even disturbed him, according to certain sources.
The Special FX were nothing short of spectacular.
Those of you who haven’t seen it yet, should see it and soon.
Why?
Because “It’s all…..part of the plan.”

I LOVED IT! and glad you got to see it, and you soooooooooo understand about the peeing before the movie.. which I almost pee’d my pants by the end.
The story and characters made the movie, and not the special effects. Transformers was good because of the effects. Batman is not a superhero but a Hero to get that straight and I was sold with the way the plot twists from left to right. I will probably see it on IMAX very soon.

I can’t WAIT to see it! However, for some unknown, probably idiotic reason thought up only to torment me and others eagerly awaiting this movie, Norwegian theatres aren’t showing it until Friday. WHATTHE. I should move. “Reason for applying for green card: Intense need to see movies the second they are released, not a week later.”

It’s the 24th that it comes out James I think, but I haven’t seen it yet and it’s not a movie im wanting to download but instead enjoy the experience at the cinema.

I’ve been reading alot of news hype, nterviews and many reviews and the feedback the movie is getting at the moment is phenominal. 5 Star reviews and 9.7 on the imdb website which goes to show how good the movie will be.

Saw it last night, had to wait in line for ten minutes, but loved it. Health Ledger was amazing. The Joker is officially my new favorite villain.

Heath Ledger makes a real good Joker. He in fact started to write a diary on how the Joker thought and really got in to the character, making it the most creepy and crazy joker of history. This time the Joker is a really crazy person with the idea of killing them all and doesn’t care much of his looks (you have to wonder how Jack Nicholson was supposed to put all that make up in his face if he was a really disturbed guy). I really think his acting deserves a Oscar nomination.

The movie is long and it’s one of the best, if not the best Batman movie ever! And also the best SuperHero movie of the year.

I may be misreading your post, but it gives me the impression that you don’t think the Scarecrow in TDK is the Scarecrow in BB. Do correct me if I’m wrong in my interpretation, Candyham

Well, it wasn’t just ’someone’ who decided to sport the Scarecrow mask–that was really Scarecrow. 2 second (actually, five minute) villain indeed.

I went and saw it last night. It was FREAKING AWESOME!

I agree with everyone in that Heath ledger should receive an Oscar Nomination. It will truly prove how worthless the Oscars are if he’s not cause they’re not many other performers who could have given that kind of performance.

I seen the movie and all I can say is “holly f***”. I think this is the best batman saga yet. Its a real fine line between PG 13 and R. I personally would loved to see it as a R movie. Heath Ledger was great if that even covers it. One downer of the movie was the fake batmans scene it was a bit lame. but other than that I can’t wait to see it again next weekend.

I went to see this the other night. I wasnt too excited because my guy friends overruled my vote to go see Wall-E. I kept thinking that the movie was over and it never was, and the joker creeped me out along with that guy at the end. I actually turned my head away because I didnt want to look at them and I ended up falling asleep for the last twenty minutes. But I thought that it was a pretty good movie

Yeah, I definitely thought it was great! Heath did an amazing job and there were a few scenes that I was actually really freaked out!

I really love Cilian Murphy also. Was glad he was back for a few.

We watched Batman Begins lastnight as well and there was just no comparison to The Dark Knight! So good.

The Dark Knight premieres on friday here in Sweden and I plan to go see it on Saturday. Not being Katie Holmes ought to be a positive thing, being part of the TomKat duo doesn’t seem very appealing.

Loved the flick. I wished I had known about your first suggestion b/c I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the movie! I thought the joker was scary. I thought that I was going to laugh at some of the jokes but his character was evil and realistic. It was nutty.

This movie was so mind-blowing - the entire cast should get an Oscar!

The Joker was freaky, all the way through; the Batman/Bruce Wayne was so intense I thought he’d implode; Harvey Dent was magic; and thank heavens someone thought to recast the Rachel Dawes character.
This movie was just bloody amazing - the plot, the action, the acting were all top-notch.

the Incredible Hulk and Superman Movie was better. Those 2 heros can kick Batman butt anytime.

one of the best movie ive even seen, but i feel like we got jipped with two face. after he got burned i saw it coming, but i feel like he could have had his own movie, instead of twenty minutes and then dying. Does anyone know of any future batman movies to come. The Riddler, Catwoman, The Penguin, Mr Freeze, Ivy, and ideas?

Saw it twice. Loved it twice… Looking forward to the uncut version.

Personally I liked Katie better. Maggies a great actor, but not for this part (IMHO).

After a ten year hiatus from attending the cinema I was dragged from my cave this saturday to see the film. Here’s my experience in a nutshell. got into an arm rest contest with the guy next to me, had to flex my muscles and scare him off. Told the jerk behind me to stop putting his feet on my seat or I would snap them off. Someone started playing with their iphone and shining it in my face. movie? What movie? Damm rude theater goers. The next time anyone puts their disgusting feet on my seat I’ll go Joker on them. If there is a next time, that is.
I should have farted in that guys face.

kudos to the makers Dark Knight for their record breaking opening weekend… it’s no wonder there’s talk of another one coming out ASAP

the joker was awesome everything else was a bit bland

I liked it but it was long. There was a problem in the theater where I saw it - the film stopped for about 1 minute. Not a big deal but the management gave out free passes to see another movie - my girlfriend and I snagged two passes each.

I am discovering that a lot of people didn’t like Maggie Gyllenhaal in this movie. I suppose then that it was a relief she was…..ooooh you thought that I was going to spoil the movie. haha

Probably better that it ended like that. I really am wondering who is going to be the next villain. It could be Hush but Hush is a fairly new Batman villain.

Or maybe the next movie could be Batman being the bad guy? (Since at the end, Batman told Gordon to blame the deaths on him instead of Harvey Dent)

The bathroom tip’s a must if you go see this movie. I’d have to say though that The Dark Knight was the best movie I’ve seen in a long time.

the screen play its magnificent and the joker actuation its great, the only bat thing its the UGLY woman that replace kattie holmes… but the good thing its that she dies jejeje….

Heath Ledger doesn’t so much as deliver a performance as he loses himself and becomes the Joker. As for Ms. Gylanhal, I think she has one of the most pigfaces in Hollywood… could they not have gotten a semi decently looking actress? The fight scenes are great, you can actually tell whats going on in most of them, as opposed to Batman Begins where it was all close up and didnt properly display Batmans full potential. All in all, sizing up to be the best movie of the year, I know theres the buzz about a posthumous oscar nod for Ledger, but I think he deserves the win, regardless if he died. There are rumors that Two-Face isnt dead, that Gordon and Batman covered it up so they wouldnt know what happened, but Im not sure if they could bring in Bane and not do the ENTIRE KnightFall storyline in one movie… maybe two. But Bale was only signed on to do three movies so we may have to see how this pans out. Id like to see Riddler, but hes not menacing enough by himself, besides who could play Edward Nigma properly. And let us not forget Scarecrow is still out there.

straight up amazing movie, a 2 and a half hour masterpiece. bale was again terrific as the protagonist and heath ledger gave the best creepy performance since anthony hopkins in silence of the lambs. christopher nolan made this so much more than a superhero movie he made it a movie about the human condition. i’ve seen it twice and will most likely watch it for a third time because it is that epic.

Anyways, back to the movie. I thought it was great, there were a few really funny parts and other parts that just creeped me out, but I’m going to see it for the second time tomorrow.

The husband and I were going to see it opening night after we got off work, but combined with being too tired, knowing that we will have to sit next to two strangers that will probably smell bad and the possibility of it selling out before we get there, thus wasting gas, we decided to postpone it for a couple weeks and let all the hype die down a bit.

I saw it and did not really like it. Besides, Ledger, who is no doubt phenomenal! Batman is too sensitive and the lawyer is too week. It is one thing to start fighting organized crime with stoned face, and the other to break after the first loss. If you are to play this game, buddy, be ready to lose your family - that’s why others don’t do it and not because they are weaker than you are. In addition, NYPD is presented as dammiest people on the planet. And this makes Joker into whom?… king of dummies (not a great achievement after all). I would like to see the opponent who is scary because he is stronger than the strongest, not the strongest of the stupidest.

Overall, the effects were cool and couple of jokes I also liked + everything that involved Ledger. 4.0/5.0

i saw the movie yesterday and thought it was great!, however, i think that many people are going to see it just because heath ledger past away and that was his last movie, also, in the last scene that he’s in (which is the scene with the boats he’s blowing up) was that really him because i heard that he died before the movie finished and it didnt really sound like him.

Yea it was him, but he was hanging upside down…so maybe that’s why he sounded different…or it’s possible they had to do a voiceover because the audio was messed up…so maybe it’s not his voice but it’s def. Ledger.

I saw it twice! Heath Ledger was creepy, but he was real good. I didn’t drink anything doing the movie to prevent using the restroom which wasn’t the best decision I’ve ever made cuz popcorn with no drink is not good. Thank goodness Maggie Gyllenhaal is not Katie Holmes.
