GRRR I love my d40x, just need to get into doing more with the pictures AFTER I’ve taken them - I think a D90 would probably motivate me somewhat!!

I’m still considering selling my Canon 40D and buying one of these just for the video. Please talk me out of it.

You’ll have to let us know how the video works out. Maybe you’re not picky about this, but I heard that there were problems with Exposure Lock - so when you take footage, you’ve got auto exposure issues that you have to clean up in FCP. If they’ve fixed that, then boy howdy, i’m all over it.

yay nikon! (@ gw… lol). i too kinda lost all my camera gear. well ok, i smoked tha herb ‘n wuz so high that left it in tha empty seat next 2 me @ a cinema in s.f. (doh!). i don’t burn ennymore so tha nikon d90 may just inspire me 2 jump back in tha game ‘n shoot my entire spring ‘09 catalog. thnx iJustine.

@Chris - Yeah, I’ll check it out. I wouldn’t obviously consider this a video solution by any means, but it’s really great to have something that will shoot everything just to capture the moment. Plus, it’s much higher quality than smaller point and shoot cameras that I typically use.

I have always been a Canon’s fan and users, have been shooting with a 35mm EOS 5 for 6 years then acquired a 30D last year, based on the fast system respond. But the D90 really blown me away, with it’s live view and 720P recording. It allows users, you Justine, to use the same high quality optics for both stills and videos. The only concern I will have is its audio quality; well, in the end, it IS a camera, not a HDV.
As I had tweet-ed you last night, you should get the vertical grip for the D90. It’s not only add a secondary battery, but also aid shooting better with a vertical shutter and selection switch. I equipped both my EOS 5 and 30D with a grip on day one of my purchase; I can never imagine shooting without a v-grip!
Hope you will add up your lens collection, too! Because, in the end, a lens makes all the difference between the good and the evil!!! Happy shooting, Justine!

Give me a break were did you get the money to pay for this camera? this is a $1,000 camera. You don’t even have a full time job. Must be your family is rich. Also Canon brand is better. I have a Canon camera worth 1,800 and has hd video and 26fps and GPS tagging. I do not think you will know how to use a advance camera like that. You should stick to your small camera’s to learn.

Also your eyes just freak me out when you make it bulge out ha ha it looks like it going to pop out … ha ha can’t stop laughing sorry…

III bought a film canon for last summer. but i got a slr nikon a few weeks ago and broke the flash on it. But its amazing. I wish i had a nicer one with video and I know everything.

Call it antiquated in tech years, but I got a Nikon D40 just last Friday. I’m not regretting a single penny I spent on it (aside from the NY State sales tax on the accessories from Amazon - those devils that we call politicians are to blame), because the images and the experince are completely awesome.

Oh, I saw this at Circuit City yesterday, SO HOT!

One question, since you have it in your hands, when focusing on something in the Live View mode - does the focus seem slower to you than the super/ultra fast focus when looked through the camera itself?

At Circuit City it seemed a bit slower.
