Cathedral of Junk

This past weekend we spent in Austin, Texas filming for AT&T. On one of our stops we visited the Cathedral of Junk.
I had no idea what to expect but basically the name says it all! It’s a huge tower of over 20 years of junk cemented together.

Here’s the entrance with Karen and I walking towards it.

This is such an interesting perspective of all the random objects that have gone into creating this crazy masterpiece.

A creepy little man statute inside the cathedral.

Playing with our phones on a throne made of more cemented trinkets. This also may come as a shock to you, but I might have fallen in love with that Motorola we were using in the show. Help!

Nearing the top!

Here is the very top and the newest addition. Vince Hannemann (the guy who built) said that you can barely see it from the front of the road.

This is the probably one of my favrote things I saw.. this little step that says “Step up to be tall.. sit down to be small”

Horsey! I was a bit nervous I was going to break those springs.
So much fun! If you’re ever in Austin, I suggest checking out this place for yourself. It’s really unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Karen also wrote and posted a video of from her perspective. Check it!
