That is so sad. I feel for you. Though I treat my iPhone like a new born baby and only dropped it for the first time this week after having it since july. Why did the Apple store turn you down? Don’t they know who you are? haha. Hope you are able to get a new baby.

OMG something similar happend to me. It’s not as bad as yours, but I was pretty sad for a while. Luckily, it still works great. How did it happen? Does it still work?

This happened to my friend too. She called up apple and told them that her iphone shattered and that it cut her hand because of it. So apple sent her a new one so there wouldn’t be a lawsuit. So, i suggest doing that.

I still have my smashed one. Looked exactly the same. They said $200 to repair, same as new one. Funny thing is, it still works perfectly, though it’s like running your finger over favor blades. That’s when I got my 3G. I miss my old one, seemed to work better.

Does AT&T exclude the iPhone from their optional insurance coverage? Anytime my Nokia N75 has broken, I just have to pay $50 for a new one under the insurance program…

On a positive side - it survived all 345984524 drops before the fatal one. I bet it started to think it was invincible and let down its guard for just one second and then - WHAM!

Sorry to hear about that… I broke mine last Friday. Until I can replace it I’ve put a screen protector on to keep myself from getting hurt on the sharp edges.

Couldn’t believe it when it happened… have dropped it at least a dozen times before and this time it didn’t even seem to be a bad drop like a few of teh others… just fell and landed flat on teh screen… looks similar to yours…

Good luck on getting it taken care of… I’ll be replacing mine this weekend… since I hadn’t upgraded to the 3G yet I still qualify for the subsidizing for new buyers at AT&T…

I guess when you get your replacement, it will probably be living in a leather or silicone case? Maybe that might help break the fall. I know the iPhone looks best by itself, but mine will always stay in the case for safety reasons. Gotta blog when you get your replacemet or if you get it fixed.

Well that is very sad story, but on the upside its a lot cheaper to repair the screen on the 3G than on the old iPhone! I know a legit place online that can fix that for $123 shipped. I’m serious!!
