Mother’s Circus Animal Cookies

I swear this isn’t a food blog, but I couldn’t help but post about these tasty Mother’s Cookies! You may recall not too long ago they went backrupt and that meant… no more cookies. The factory in Oakand, CA has been around since 1914! That’s a pretty long time.

Well, yesterday I dropped off djsteen at rocknrollgeek’s house and he gave me a delicious bag of these cookies. He also informed me (and seconded by wikipedia) that Kellogg’s did in fact purchase the original recipe of these cookies. That means — they’re back!!!

Justine no need to apologize, we all know you love tasty snacks just like we all love them. I don’t believe I have eaten these before, but if I do see them around I will be sure to try them out.

Actually, if you look at the find print on the back of the bag, you will see that they are made by Archway. Which went bankrupt and was bought by Lantz Cracker Company.

But yes, Woot!. (I was going to sell my last bags on eBay and make a fortune, but at least I can buy them again.)

WOW! I’m glad to hear that those knockoff ones I’ve been seeing are the same. I still have a bag of these set aside. My friend and I cleared out all the stores when we first hear the news. I hope Kelloggs can make them as good!

By the way, those are expired. Don’t worry though. I think mine are too. They are usually okay after the expiration date. I don’t want to eat the last bag! I’ll have to check to make sure the new ones are good first.

they are pretty good. you should email them and tell them to make blogger cookies with you and other famous bloggers. i’d buy those.

These are hands-down the best packaged cookies you can buy. Sure, homemade fresh-from-the-oven are better but if you have to buy great cookies from grocery store these are tops! I’m soooo glad to hear they are coming back.

Also: I like the “i-less” Justine logo.
