Stephen on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amWhat a fine Justine. I wouldn’t eat any of that, doesn’t look very good.
cmlckies on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amwhen i was in SF, kids were eating this stuff like candy. sick.
Mered on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amOkay… I have been officially grossed out for the day. Who would eat that?
Jvstin on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amI’d try them.
Gebadia Smith on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amYou have never been to China have you Ijustine…that is nothing… PS don’t tell them you are vegan because they will feed you silk worm..
Derek on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amI wish I hadn’t already eaten breakfast before I looked at this. All of a sudden I don’t feel so hot….
Steve O (gswd) on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amHey, my birthday is in 5 months. Now I know what to serve at the party! That is if I don’t want any party goers there I guess. (-_-)
Karen on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amOoh, I’ve had those crab and sesame seed things. They’re sweet, but the shells are a bit icky. They get stuck in your teeth and don’t swallow well. It was an odd treat!
LESLIEx317537 on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amI’ve tried those crabs and fish before. They aren’t so bad.
Then again, I’m Chinese and a lot of stuff can easily gross out my friends that aren’t use to different things.
But I’ll try almost everything. They key is trying before you judge anything.
I got a open mind so why don’t you all get inside. -B-Boys…
Kato on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amBrings back memories of deep fried scorpions they sold on the streets of Bangkok. And no i didn’t try them but was tempted
rex on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amThey are SOOO good! especially the little fish! I mean seriously, even Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear like the tiny crabs from the Japan special!
Oscar on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 ameeewww any way I could find some crikets here or Maguey worms… want some?
alexis on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amever had mopani worms?
they are from afrika and
they taste like jerky!
they are the best!
ytomi on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amI don’t like this kind of snacks.
I like beef-jerky 1M times.To get them in the US is rare…
If U can get them easily, an importer’s selection miss the point.
Justopia on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amOh Justine! You have no idea what you are missing with the crablettes. When I lived in the Philippines they were as addictive as eating potato chips! I kid you not. They are DEElicious! Hell, if I could get hooked on fermented shrimp (bagoong) I was sure to love fried crablettes. I’d go to that party!!
Now the dried fish … not so much. They would dry it on the side of the streets, HIGHWAYS INCLUDED! They put them out on the street and sometimes on tarps, but I avoided them at all costs.
And the squid or octopus or whatever in the other package, well, that’s just not good to even look at. I’ve seen and experienced worse, but no, not something I’m going to indulge in.
Rachel Jung on Jan 25th 2009 at 2:43 amOMG!
i’ve never tried any of those, but i’ve had..
dried squid (not like the type you had pics of), live mini-octopus (no joke), sea cucumber, and etc. i’m asian, so i’m used to it now.
Starfeeder on Jan 26th 2009 at 2:43 ammmmm tasty

Natan on Jan 26th 2009 at 2:43 amThat is really something that needs to be eaten in the dark so you dont know what it is…!!!
good luck
James on Jan 26th 2009 at 2:43 amI’m not a big fanatic on seafood anyway. But there’s NO WAY I’d buy seafood in the same type of packaging as candied corn…
Daniel A. on Jan 26th 2009 at 2:43 amMy friends and I were just looking at these at our local Japanese market, and saying the same thing. I think I will pass on some mini crabs or dried squid…kthxbai.
