Ikea Food is totally awesome!! So tasty !
I usually go there for the food

The main reason I go to Ikea is for the meatballs and Hot Dogs. The furniture comes second.

I have had the meatballs and they are amazing! WOOP

Here in germany the meatballs(köttbullar) are there since they has build the first ikea. it’s realy awesome!!!!

I love thouse meatballs! Every time I am at Ikea I have to have them

The food in IKEA is almost the main reason for going there, at least in my case I live in Sweden (home of IKEA, woho!) and it’s just awesome to drop in and grab some hot dogs for 5 SEK each (about 50¢). The meatballs is also something to be proud of if you’re a Swede..

Wow… The Ikea meatballs are just great! It’s been a long time since I ate them, but this post made me hungry… Maybe I should visit Ikea, soon…. ^^

I remember visiting IKEA with my parents years ago. I was always looking forward to those meatballs. A good compensation for looking at furniture with my parents for hours. Also that was probably more than 15 years ago …
Went there some month ago, did eat a dish of meatballs. They weren’t as wonderful as I remember, but still good though. Mine came with potatoes, didn’t like those, a little tasteless. Looks like yours came with mashed potatoes. Were they any good?

Oh, by the way. IKEA calls those meatballs “Köttbullar”. And you can actually buy frozen ones at most stores.
And obviously IKEA asserts Köttbullar actually contain meat….

Köttbullar is swedish for meatballs. Kött=meat, bullar=balls.

And the Ikea style of food actually is real Swedish food as it comes here in Sweden.

Of course it is meat And fyi, that is how all meatballs look like and tastes like (almost) in Sweden. That is why we can never order meatballs abroad. It will only deliver disappointment

Ikea rocks. I need to schlep down to the one by Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL (closest one to me, unfortunately) because I really could also use a new desk or something. This one is just not big enough for the iMac and all my toys.

YEAH!!!! the Charlotte (NC) IKEA just opened this Wednesday! All of my friends in architecture school had been dying to see one pop out in this general region! and now it is just 5 minutes down the street (well with the opening rush traffic… it is more like 30 minutes away…)
I love their smoke salmon and apple glazed grill salmon! and of course, MEATBALLS!!!
you can buy them at the food market, too… and caviar.

I love the meatballs! I usually buy the frozn pack to take home with me. They’re pretty good with spaghetti or dipping them alone in bbq sauce! Mmm!

The Ikea in London does delicious Fish and Chips but the meatballs are pretty good too

Haha that’s so awesome that it seems like everyone loves the meatballs! I was actually quite surprised how good they were and after shopping for 3 hours, I was starving!!! They were quite a tasty little delight.. and the mac and cheese.. oh reallllly freakin good.

I also bought a set of the little dishes the mac and cheese was in. They placed them ever so perfectly near the check out that I couldn’t resist! $1.99 — baller!!

I think I’ve tried the meatballs there… but Ikea’s not really known for their food. lol I do like the ice cream though. If you’re at the City of Industry one.. there’s an In-n-Out across the place. LOL

I only go there for the meatballs.

I have never been to IKEA, only browsed at the things they have online. I’m not too sure if Nashville has one, and if they do…it’s definately NOT on my side of town.

oh my god! “ikea not known for it’s food” are you mad? - it’s totally known for it. The meatballs are AWESOME. It’s the only reason I go, everywhere has furnature, only Ikea has Meat balls, potatoes, ligonberry sauce and gravy! Also it’s MaccyD’s it tastes the same everywhere!

Well, IKEA is the worlds largest chain of immigrant stores, of course they have werd foreign foods.

YES! Now you’ve discovered the true deliciousness that is IKEA. Makes me feel like taking the 1-1/2 hour trek to Orlando for some of that IKEA goodness…and the furniture showcases as well, hehe! =)

They have meatballs in ever Ikea all across the world! I’ve been the the first and main Ikea in Sweden, and back home in Finland, and they all taste the same and are very popular!

If I had £1 for everytime someone told me I need to try ikea meatballs I’d be rich! It shocks people that I’ve never tried them since I come from a town that has one of the biggest Ikeas in the UK……too many people have made it a quest to make me try them haha.

I love IKEA’s meatballs, Swedish meatballs are one of the things I miss the most now that I’ve moved to Norway. I also miss Swedish Coca-Cola, believe it or not, it’s MUCH better in Sweden, the Norwegian CC tastes like dishwater.

Come on people, calm down, it’s just a bunch of f****** meatballs…

OMG! I was just at the opening of IKEA in Charlotte, NC. I was one of the first 1500 in line so I got a lot of free stuff. I also had the meatballs and they were amazing.

The Ikea in Massachusetts is about 10 minutes from where I work . The food is so cheap but good. They should open up just the restaurants. They could have the food at the food court at the mall.

Word I got an Egg Chair and a cool White Desk from that IKEA. Justine you know what’s up DAIM, Swedish toffee bars, they sell those.

IKEA calls them Köttbullar because that’s their name in Sweden, IKEA’s native country! (also my native country :))

The best meatballs is the one you make yourself, IKEA are using the pre-made ones, and they taste like crap! They tasted better back in the days, not only in america, but also in Sweden.

Dude the Swedish Meatballs dinner combo at IKEA is amazing. We used to eat there all the time, because it is good and super cheap. I don’t know what’s in the gravy, but it’s super addictive.

They also have good Apple Cake? I don’t remember exactly what it is called, but it is really good. Also when you get soda there, you have to mix half lingonberry juice, half sprite. It’s a really really good combo.

Oh, and they dont even sell meatballs to go on most IKEA in sweden… just pizza-slices and hot dog! If you want meatballs you gotta go to their real restaurant… or to any shop in sweden ;D

I can believe you just discover them, well better late than never they say. A cultural difference to France: I never saw macaroni & cheese over here… and I’ve enjoyed Ikea’s meatballs since the first french store 20 years ago.

Actually, IKEA has been in France since 1981, almost 28 years ago !!

Spending a day at Ikea is a trip worth taking. As for the meatballs, well, I do make my own these days. For the most part I favor Marinara Sauce mit Meatballs…….sirloin, pork and Italian sausage are the core of my creations….If I want to go Frumage…..I use flour, butter, cheese…..and Voila! from Italia to Sweden……
Interesting how we discuss culinary delights on a Furniture store blog site……Meatball lovers come in many forms……go figure.
