Teleport dual laptops

Not sure how many of you use multiple Macs, but if you do.. this is an amazing extension that you MUST check out! It’s called teleport!

As you can see above, I still use my old Macbook Pro because it has files on it that I sometimes need and I like to keep open tweetdeck to see my tweets (yeah, so basically an entire computer dedicated to twitter)

Best things about this extension:

• Use one mouse and keyboard to easily navigate your way from one computer to the other.
• Drag and drop files between the two.. or three or four!
• Copy and paste from one computer to the other!
• If you move one computer, you can quickly change computers virtual location in the control panel.
• It’s free!!

Hope this helps some of you out. Thanks to @neilmg for the tip.

Hmm, will have to check this out… Wish there was something similar that was cross-platform. I have a Mini and a Windows box and a Linux box at work, and I use Synergy to share a keyboard/mouse/clipboard between them, but still have to use some sort of SFTP for moving files between machines.

Yep. Been using this for a while now. kinda like a badass 21st century KVM. I’m sure a lot of the kids out there don’t even know what a KVM is. ROFL!

BTW I have 2 Vista boxes that I use synergy on. It’s the same thing for Windows.

@adam: Synergy is for Macs too. I use it to go between my Windows desktop and a Macbook Pro sometimes. Doesn’t work great over wireless, but when I have both at my desk, they are wired in.

Hey Justine! What program do you use to film with your isight. Do you just film directly to FCP or iMovie’09??

This is the most amazing extension iv seen in a long time! Productivity has just gone up 5 notches. Where do you find these things? lol

Nice! Nothing new, but the easy usage gives it this maccish touch.
I should have a look for my macs somewhere in the attic and set them up again. At least they look nice.

Btw. I hope that ist not a SonyErricson Walkmanphone to the left of your MacBook.

I use Teleport all the time.. Best program EVER!… I’ve even uses it on a hackintosh… yep I said it!

Definitely a nice free helpful app if you have multiple macs.
I just tried it and it works great.
I was able to drag the Safari 4 beta install file from my MacBook to my MacBook Pro, but it didn’t seem to let me drag the 1GB+ iPhone SDK over. Maybe a size limitation or something…

I do have mutliple macs (four) but I use only two of them. One is ooooold and the other is shiny new iMac that my brother uses mostly. Anyway, I’ve always wanted an app like Teleport. Thanks!
