I totally agree!

I love the new shuffle. But none of the local apple stores in KC have them in stock yet. The shuffle has always been my favorite iPod, I still have the first gen shuffle and still use it all the time.

Telling you the name of the current playing song really isn’t that helpful in my opinion - it’s playing something from your own music library, probably that you specifically chose to go on the shuffle. Looks nice though.

I love the new design, the new VoiceOver, Playlist and Podcast features, the new controlls, the 4GB, the nice price and, of course, the fact that it’s Apple

I think they look cool.

All the ads say it’s the first music player that talks to you, but that feature is on the iPod nano too!

I dont think its that great. I have the old shuffle and it does everythign I need it to do for when i jog/ run. However I can see some people really not liking the fact you have to use the apple earbuds with it. I know a lot of people who are totally against the apple earbuds (i am not i love my iphone ones) however for their sake they would not like the new shuffle.

It does look cool though…I am super excited for the iPhone 3.0 update on March 17th!

Controls on the earbud cord is a huge turnoff for those of us who like to use a different headphone option. Plus I love seeing album art on my nano!

Yeah, but the shuffle isn’t that great.
If you have like an external 3rd party earphones, you can’t use it cause theres no physical controls on the ipod shuffle itself.
Either way, the design is ok and the features are pretty cool, but they should still have the buttons.
Now since its smaller, its easier to lose it! lol

Yeah, the earbuds dont stay in my ears!! There is no way I can run with those in at all.. or ever!

Wow… I think the new iPod shuffle is cool. I have 2 older shuffles, an Ipod touch, and an Ipod Nano. My BF has an Iphone, too. I love Apple products.

I actually like the idea, at least in theory, though having to hold down a clicker to change playlists is clumsy — give me playlist buttons!

You can use Apple’s iPod In-Ear Headphones with the iPod shuffle, so you can get something that fits in your ear AND sounds better. And third-parties will have extra headphones in the spring.

I really never caught on to the shuffle fad. I’m always in the mood for certain types of music but I can’t pick if its a shuffle. The text to speech seems pretty nice though but the special ear buds are sure to annoy people who like their own.

Don’t try the jogging with your eyes closed part. You might drop your iPhone 3G again….or hurt yourself. lol

I dont really like it. Its cute and all but I would HATE the controls on the earbuds. that seems really annoying… I think I am going to stay with my iTouch.

see!! so how are you going to use your new shuffle with no earbuds? that plus the fact you are running with your eyes shut…i’d say you are setting yourself up for disaster!

Umm I just finially bought myself a Nano(147.88 woot woot for Wal-mart!) and I am still trying to figure it out. So this thing will have to wait. I am actually right now wanting an ipod touch, because you can check you facebook on it, tell Apple if they made it so you can update your Twitter on this, I will buy! lol

It’s cool but there’s a point when I think things get too small. I would lose that very quickly. I can’t afford to get something that’s 79 bucks and then lose it!

Gonna shy people away from getting it by limiting the headphone option. Its way to small for me, even the last one was too small.

But, maybe now this will drive the price of the current one down more and more people will pick them up. Definitely worth watching the price drop on them if your looking for a contest prize!

I absolutely love the new shuffles, and want one myself. The fact that you’re restricted to the earbuds included with the shuffle is of no worry to me, as I love Apple’s earbuds. I would highly suggest that you keep an eye on it though, because it could easily get stuck between couch cushions.

Your kinda screwed when your headphones break..well that is until you do buy another pair of 50$ headphones.

Other than that, its great!

They actually sell these awesome adapters for the ipod earbuds so they stay in your ear, I got mine from a family member who is an audiologist.

I would love one of these for working out in the gym. I know I always just slap stuff on my ipod and wonder what song it is when it comes up, and then i’d know!

I’m still not sure if i like or dislike them.

but, if you dont want to use those headphones then your kinda screwed :\

I don’t like how they have moved the controls to the headphones, its like taking a necessary part of the device, and making it an accessory! If you lose/break those headphones, then you can’t use it without buying Apple’s own headphones.

Even though I don’t like the new Shuffle, I still love Apple!

i think it’s an absolute FLOP.
i don’t like the fact that the controls are on the headphones, considering the fact that all ipod headphones deteriorate within the first couple months. not to mention how the provided headphones have poor sound.
furthermore, in recessionary times they need to make an lower entry point ipod, not increase it to $79 (regardless of the extra storage).
i for one like the last model the best. i too use it solely for jogging.

to sum it all up .. apple has made a poor business decision IMO .. stevejobs needs to return to office! and soon!

Love the new shuffle. Saw one in person at the Kahala  Store today. So small. I have all the iPods I need, so I passed.
Maybe on the next visit.

heh the text-to-speech capability is nice. Same with the ability to have playlists! But I don’t need ANOTHER ipod… plus, it doesn’t come in Pink yet!

Pretty soon it’ll just be an earbud.

Because apples headphones are so crappy and they break so easy
so then you don’t have the controls if you break their crappy headphones.

It’s cool, but wayyyyyyyyy to easy to lose. I lost my regular sized iPod, so I KNOW i’d lose this one. It looks really cool though.

Considering the fact that I go through 4.53902 headphones a year, this looks like a no-no for me.
