Ha Justine, funny I did a compare between some video twit sites.

I tested twitvid.com, twitvid.io, mobypicture.com and posterous.
I’m a bit confused because I remember twitvid.io to work on the iPhone, but now the .com only worked, but not good…

For me posterous came out best. I created a video with Photo Booth and mailed it. Everything worked like sending a tweet and it played perfect on my iPhone, tops.

from what i remember twitvid.com and .io were racing to release features. I guess twitvid.com won … they have an iphone and blackberry app! also i’ve tried both services and twitvid.com performs better (videos load faster, iphone videos display properly, it resumes my broken uploads, etc.)

Also, I wouldn’t say they stole the idea. This was a very common idea before .io launched. So many people were requesting a twitter video service. it makes sense to call it twitvid (which sounds similar to twitpic). and it’s not the idea that matters, it’s the execution of that idea that does. in this case, twitvid.com executed extremely well!
