iPhone app addiction

Posted at 12:13 pm | 40 comments

The first step of recovery is admitting you have a problem. I have one and it’s an addition to iPhone apps. I did a google search for iPhone app addition to see what I could find.. and this comic showed up. So funny! joyoftech always provides some amazing geek humor to the internet world.

I cannot get enough of the cheesy time management / strategy games. Lately, these are what have been taking up all of my time:

Cooking Dash $2.99 — Cook up food and serve it to your customers over the course of 5 different restaurants. (I just beat this so I had to download Wedding Dash and Diner Dash that are very similar in game play)

Farm Frenzy $0.99 — In this addicting little game you are in charge of a farm where you take care of your animals and complete certain tasks.. like gathering a number of eggs or wool! I swear it’ll waste too much of your time.

Ranch Rush $0.99 — This is a fun little game that is very similar to Farm Frenzy but with much better graphics. You have to take care of your produce and harvest it for your customers. So addicting.

If you wanna test these out.. there are lite versions of all of them! Can’t hurt to get them when they’re freeeeeeeee!! Weee!! Any other games that you guys have been playing that are similar to this type of game play? Let me know so I can get them!

Hi hi hi hi! I’m so excited to be able to share this with you! A few months ago I sat down with Jonathan Wander @JMwander and we talked about pretty much everything for this article in Pittsburgh Magazine. He did an amazing job of grasping my little internet world and putting it into words. I’d love for you guys to check it out!!!

** UPDATE** Links are now fixed! You guys did a bit too much clicking yesterday and broke their server :) Try these ones for now. Thanks for all your support! You guys rock.

• Full article that’s in the magazine can be read here
• Extra pictures, fan interviews and behind the scenes video here
• Want to buy a copy? Do that here :)

I hope you guys enjoy checking it out. I had a great time shooting all of the fun Heinz photos with the amazing photographer Laura Petrilla @misslphoto. She had a great eye for capturing all the ketchup goodness. Also, another big thanks to Alex @awander who took tons of behind the scenes footage for the video! So fun!

Let me know what you think of the article and thanks again for being awesome! xo

Halloween video

Posted at 8:22 pm | 17 comments

Today Karen and I shot an awesome video for Halloween (she was even sick today but I made her come out and make a video)! It’s going to be a sweet interactive video on youtube. So.. yeah, get ready for that :)

Hello, iPhone — welcome to 2009. Everyone else in the world has been able to send pictures since 1990. Thank you for joining the rest of us.

Anyways, this isn’t meant to be a rant because I do love my iPhone and there isn’t enough time for me to really write how I feel.. but really, this nonsense should have been out in the first or second release.

The update just takes seconds to update the carrier settings and boom! You’re on your way to a photo sending party!

140tc celebrity panel

Posted at 6:00 pm | 14 comments

As some of you might know, there is a twitter conference going on right now! Yesterday I got a chance to sit on the “celebrity panel” with Tony Hawk, Dr. Drew, Jason Mayhem Miller, Levar Burton, and Tyrese.

It was so much fun and I was very excited to meet Tony Hawk because my sister and I used to play all of his skateboarding games when I was younger. Come on.. you know you play them too!!

It was a really fun panel because I’m coming from a completely different perspective than most of them. I’m just a little internet person, and they are from the big TV world. I was very honored to be included in this great discussion. Hopefully it’ll be online somewhere and I’ll link you guys!

Also, yesterday.. Pee Wee Herman was here. Seriously, I kid you not! He sent his first tweet from the stage.

[ stole all of these photos without permission from dcortesi's flickr stream lol -- visit him for more photos from the conference being uploaded from an eye-fi ]

I know I’m a few weeks late.. but I really did have this idea for this song the instant I figured out who that dude was up on stage that stole the mic from Taylor. Since I haven’t had enough time to actual make a real music video and write the entire song, this little clip will have to do :) You get the point, right?!

Keep asking those questions and making those video responses. And before you get all question crazy, maybe take a trip back through memory lane to see if I’ve answered one already ;)

Esquire House soho

Posted at 3:03 pm | 28 comments

Wow wow wow.. last week while I was in NY I shot a little something for Blue Microphones at the Esquire House in SoHo. Now if you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you might remember when I visited the one in Hollywood with Intel (if not, then click here for a little refresher).

Well, after our little shoot they let me take a tour of the place and I ran around pretty much just saying “omg” and “awesome” 50 million times. Everything is pretty much perfect. I did a little googleing and they’ve been doing this since 2003 — taking a home or condo and turning it in an Esquire House (ultimate bachelor pad).

I said I’d kindly sublet a room.. a bathroom or even a little tiny corner space if they wanted :)

Oh, and the awesome bar was designed by Brad! Check out his site here: bradascalon.com

NO BUS TOUR!

Posted at 9:36 am | 48 comments

I’ve been having so much fun in NY (and I probably have about a weeks worth of videos to post from various events) but the one thing that I just CAN’T get over is the amount of people trying to get you to go on a bus tour in Times Square.

This is just a little recap of that situation you’ll find yourself in if you’ve ever been there or plan to go there.
