But euhm… how much does the square cost ? And I guess the iphoooooonneee was connected to the internet via wifi ?

I guess it also uses encryption ? But kind ? Doh..

This is one big step in the right direction. One day I hope that I will be able to just push the “accept” button on my iPhone when purchasing something in the store and get the receipt in my mailbox without any credit cards at all!

I’d love to know what the fees are. If reasonable, this could be great for people that do fairs and the like. They pay the highest rates because they often handwrite the charges and process them at home. The site mentions the “Fees” section, but I could not find it. So, what was the overhead on that $1.00 transaction ?

Very cool, Saw Kevin Rose demo it on his site and diggnation a while back and it will definitely make a huge difference on how we buy and sell things!

It seems to me that this is not just and iphone product but can be used on other phones and it is wireless or wifi. The fees are show to you when you make the charge. This will really help the smalll business owner like photographers and artists.

This is going to be great for artists and people selling in places like Union Square, NY. Cut paypal out of mix and just make it much easier to sell to people quickly. I’m really excited about this.

Looks like a cool app, though I’m guessing it’s only for the US at the moment.

It would certainly be a great way to be able to take wedding deposits at fairs!

Wow, this looks amazing! Cannot wait till it actually comes out, this will make selling my stock at fairs so much easier, because I will be able to take credit rather than just cash or check.
