Hanging out on the Smart Show with Henry Dittman! We talked about twitter and… more twitter. Lots of fun!

Feels like I was just here in Chicago not too long ago (Oh wait.. I was). This time we’re back shooting for our AT&T project which I swear will actually be out soon
Above photo we are taking an architectural boat tour on the lake while I snapped some photos with my D90. Wooo hoo!

The big silver reflective bean!

Photo from inside the bean.

Navy Pier at night.

Lots of leg statues.

View from the ferris wheel earlier today.

Not sure why Michael Arrington was giving the Cyprus kids such a hard time last week about taking their little “vacation”.. I mean, look! I found him and his puppy at the beach in his office chair.
He even posed for a really authentic picture with me!
Check out this cute little guy that was napping on the beach!

Hawaiian Monk Seal.

Don’t TOUCH!!!!

Pretty Poipu Beach with my napping seal

The last stop on my Hawaiian tour after Maui is Kauai! This is a really beautiful island that’s full of lush plants and jungle area. It’s one of the oldest and fourth largest of the main islands.. and is also known as the wettest spots on earth (I’ve been learning a lot of fun facts from chatting with the locals). This is also the island where they shot Jurassic Park!
Another amazing thing about this island is the chickens! It’s pretty much over run with them. While waiting to rent a car, an entire flock just pecked around the entrance of the door at the airport. So awesome.

This on Poi’pu beach! Can’t resist the jumping sunset photos.

This is the view from a restaurant called the “Beach House” — it’s awesome.

Another pretty view. I love my Nikon D90! I’ve so missed having a DSLR.
I’ve also been posting random photos on flickr as well. More to come.. When I’m back I promise to post something other than beach photos and videos
ha ha!
I wasn’t exactly prepared for this hike.. but it was a lot of fun anyways. We took the road to Hana and this was one of the stops on the way.

While stopping for lunch, this little wild chicken joined me on my table!

I named her Rocky.

She was running around and kinda hard to shoot.

Rocky under the table!
I’ve been having an amazing time here in Hawaii and it’s been even more awesome having this Nikon D90 along for the trip. Not sure how many photos I’ve taken, but I have an 8 gig Sandisk card that I’ve constantly been clearing off.
This is one of the first real videos I’ve posting using the video on it. It’s definitely a bit odd having a DSLR that shoots video but it’s pretty useful for situations where a photo just won’t do the situation justice.
I haven’t played around with all of the settings yet, but it definitely won’t entirely replace my Flip. The audio is decent and the video quality looks pretty good and you can use any lenses that you’d normally use on the DSLR. I love being able to manually focus on objects.
I must admit though, it is quite funny making a video blog and filming yourself with this camera — definitely feels a bit awkward
Also, it’s really fun to act like you’re taking a picture of someone and surprise them that it’s a video. They never believe it!
..and now, for some photos:

Amazing view in Pa’ia from the front of Mama’s Fish House.

My fail whale coloring.

The paparazzi was out. I think they were from US Weekly or People?

The water is pretty much perfectly clear!

Waiting for the sun to set.

Leaping in the sunset

Sunset!

At breakfast this little birdy was contemplating eating himself (scrambled egg).

Then he ate himself. End scene.
Shots taken with Nikon D90! Yeah!

It’s really amazing how much stuff we can get done in a weekend (of course, getting up at 5am probably helps). We did so many different things in Austin!
One of those things is being handcuffed to Karen. Guess you’ll just have to wait for the videos to come out.

We were shooting in some dog park and it was like a scene out of.. hmm, well a movie where people get attacked by something. I’ve never seen so many dogs running around like crazy.

Our wonderful crew telling Karen and I what to do.

Entrance to this really pretty cemetery.

A really cool headstone at the cemetery (yes, we were shooting here)

At Barton Springs! We totally wanted to jump in but at 8am it definitely wasn’t warm out.

Karen and I did a live improv show!

Rachel even came to see us — she drove about 3 hours too!

We bought these awesome cupcakes at Whole Foods.. they were not as tasty as they were pretty.

The Studio 8 guys shooting us while we get portraits drawn.

This is a video rental place called I <3 Video. So. Awesome!

Already blogged about the Cathedral of Junk, but this is a little house that is out back of the tower.

..and again, some things are just left better to be explained in the videos ![]()

You know you’ve made them.. We all have!
Show me your worst Photo Booth photo. Don’t be scared
What, you don’t have Photo Booth? Get yourself to an Apple Store and use one of their computers. If you get yelled at.. just say I sent you (and that will make no difference at all).
